In our daily lives, we never escape asking for suggestion or giving suggestion to others. Even asking and giving suggestion is done in simple matters. For example, what kind of clothes should you wear today. Do you want to wear formal or casual clothes today, and so on. By asking and giving suggestion, you can be more comfortable in carrying out your daily life. Because you can get or give a broader perspective on anything. The difference between suggestion and advice is its meaning. In the context of its use, it is also different. If you can use suggestion to ask for advice related to choices or everyday decisions, while advice refers to something more serious and formal

1. Making Suggestion
When you want to make or give suggestions, you should pay attention to the interlocutor. What is the condition, so that the suggestions given are appropriate and do not make someone feel offended. For example, you have a friend who has never seen each other for a long time. Then on the phone, he said he wanted to meet at a restaurant to enjoy culinary while releasing his longing. But he didn't have a good idea. So, you can give suggestions. Check out the following example of a suggestion making conversation.

A: Sounds great! I haven’t been there in for a while.
2. Accepting and Rejecting Suggestion
Accepting Suggestion :
- – Thank you for your advice/suggestion
- – What a (good, great, brilliant, etc) idea!

- – That might be worth to try
- – This just what I need
- – I’ll do that. Thanks!
- – Okay, I’ll try it!

Refusing/Rejecting Suggestion :
- – I don’t think that is a good idea
- – I don’t think this would work
- – Do you have any/other suggestion/advice?
- – This is a good idea, but …
- – I’m not really sure about that
- – Sorry, I can’t
- – Sorry, I don’t like it
- – No, thanks!
- – I’d rather not
Example conversation :
Karina: Yes, it has. Did you pass the test?
Mark: Hmm, I was absent from the last meeting since I looked after my mom at home. So, I don’t know my score yet. What should I do?
Karina: Oh, you should see Ms. Jennie to check your score.
Mark: Thank you for your advice!
